  1. We don't talk about him much, but Crick has really come together this year after his amazing fall (#39 MLB over-all prospect to not even Giants Top-30). HOnestly, I never thought I'd see it.

He was great in spring training while in the major league camp. And he's carried it over to Sacramento. His WHIP is down to 1.29 in the band-box, thin-air PCL and he's really missing-bats and finding the strike zone much better with 25Ks in 18.2 innings.

So I'm hoping we've seen a Kyle Crick who has finally mastered his mechanics instead Kyle Crick who just happened to be on a hot streak. Time will tell. But it's looking good, after years of bitter disappointment, so far.

    1. Some prospects are late bloomers and just take longer to develop.

    2. I really like his ability to bounce back from bad outings that he's showing.

    3. Salvaging any thing at this point from Crick would be a system triumph.
On Cueto, don't seem to know what you're going to get from him. Overall, he's been the victim of some bad luck, but homers are homers and with the Giants sputtering offense, he needs a QS to have a shot at a win. Can you be an "Ace" if you can't go out and shut down the other team when your club needs a win?

    4. Kyle Crick like a Matt Cain twin they look so similar lol.

    5. Cueto is an "Ace". He is pitching with blisters on the index and middle fingers of his throwing hand, which limit his ability to impart late movement on his deliveries. We will be missing him when he is gone, even if he will be getting a little old in about 3-4 seasons.

  2. Update on Steven Duggar: he's playing in AZ. Elbow strain limited him, so this is essentially his spring training. They're expecting early to mid July return. That's disappointing, but nice to hear something on him.

  3. Well, Chris Shaw is leaving RVA and is SacTown bound! Good for him. He played 18 games in LF. 154PA .301/.390/.511, 16.9K%, 11.7BB%, 147wRC+.

Not sure what happens to Hill at the end of his rehab. The Gs seem to be pretty committed to him. I'm guessing he goes back up, though I'm not sure what the corresponding move would be. I would be okay if they let Morse go. I felt his addition was more of a feel good novelty thing anyway.

Bochy seems pretty serious about the Tomlinson CF experiment. He's quoted as saying, “Tommy is a valuable guy in the majors and if we can give him some experience in the outfield, it gives you more flexibility and versatility."

  5. Mac has disappeared... Is he hurt again?
Has anyone seen Chris Shaw play the outfield? He only done it this year in Richmond -- is this another project? Speedwise in 215 games he's stolen exactly 0 bases. Sounds like a Pat Burrell who actually did steal 7 bases in his career.
There are some real outfielders in the system (AAA and AA) who might actually be able to hit in the major leagues, one of them is 10-25 with a .400/.429/.720 slash in 17 big league games. Are the Giants saving him for the September expansion?
