The Giants got a QS from Jake Peavy and a walk off hit by Brandon Crawford in the 10'th inning to sweep the Padres for the 3'rd time this season and give the Giants their 13'th win in 14 games. Key Lines:
Gregor Blanco- 2 for 4, 3B. BA= .244. Blanco had been struggling, but now has 4 hits in his last 2 games. I haven't see video of the triple to RF, but man, it was a rough series for Matt Kemp, especially on defense.
Matt Duffy- 2 for 5, 2 SB(7). BA= .250. Duffman is hitting .320 over his last 7 games.
Brandon Crawford- 2 for 4, SB(3). BA= .262. Crawford his hitting .333 over his last 7 games.
Kelby Tomlinson- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .344. The two hits don't tell half the story. Tomlinson started in LF because Boch wanted to give Span a day off so Blanco moved to CF with Jarrett Parker taking RF. Tomlinson got off a throw that everybody is talking about to nail a Padre runner at home plate. I mean, who knew? I guess he was mostly a SS in the minors so it's not a surprise that he has an arm, but where have we seen that kind of a throw out of him before this?
Jake Peavy- 6.2 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 7.26. Peavy had only thrown like 70 pitches after 6 innings. Just a much more efficient, smoother effort than what we have seen so far this season. I've seen so many time that MLB players bounce back after hitting rock bottom and Peavy did that in his last disaster start. Hopefully this is the start of one of his good runs, which would be so huge for the Giants.

The Win kept the NL West leading Giants 4.5 games ahead of the 2'nd place Dodgers after the Dodgers topped the Reds 3-1. The Rockies and D'Backs lost so the rest of the division stacks up with those teams and the Padres respectively 7, 8.5 and 10.5 games behind the Giants.

The Giants get tomorrow off, but will spend it in Colorado before starting a weekend series in Coors Field where they have tended to not match up well with the Rockies the last couple of seasons. Matt Cain draws the first start facing Tyler Chatwood, who has turned himself into quite a good pitcher.
