Down on the Farm: 5/6/2016

AAA  Sacramento River Cats defeated the Las Vegas 51's 5-3:

Ramiro Pena 2B- 2 for 3, 3B, BB.  BA= .342.
Jarrett Parker RF- 2 for 4, HR(9).  BA= .234.
Hak-Ju Lee SS- 3 for 4, SB(3).  BA= .344.
Chris Stratton RHP- 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 9 K's.  ERA= 6.55.
Steven Okert LHP- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 4.32.

Parker stays hot with his 7'th HR in 6 games.  I wish I could say that Hak-Ju's success at the plate is due to the Giants coaching him to a more aggressive approach.  Turns out his BB and K rates are about the same as last year.  This is the kind of dominant line we saw from Stratton in spring training.  A couple more games like this and he could find himself starting a game for the Giants.

AA Richmond Flying Squirrels vs Altoona Curve postponed.

High A  San Jose Giants beat the Lake Elsinore Storm 6-4:

Ronnie Jebavy CF- 2 for 3, BB.  BA= .202.
Chris Shaw 1B- 1 for 3, 2B, BB.  BA= .351.
DJ Snelton LHP- 6.2 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 9 K's.  ERA= 3.58.

Shaw is starting to get some national headlines.  Snelton has 14 K's against 1 BB in 12.2 IP over his last 2 starts.

Low A  Greenville Drive edged out the Augusta Greenjackets 4-3:

Matt Winn C- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .269.
Kelvin Beltre 3B- 1 for 3, 3B, SF.  BA= .210.
Grant Watson LHP- 3.2 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 1.93.
Ryan Koziol RHP- 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 3.94.
Ryan Halstead RHP- 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 4.09.

Fun fact:  Greenville has a set of twins playing for them-  Luis Alejandro Busabe started at 2B and Luis Alexander Busabe played CF.
