  1. I think it’s fair to look back after almost 6 years and say the Giants made a mistake in not rebuilding the traditional way. Look at teams like Baltimore, Cleveland, KC, Pittsburgh, and even Arizona and you can’t help but wonder what we would look like had we gone that route.

Maybe the hardest part of a rebuild is committing to it and doing it. You have to make that conscious choice and let go of some of the players you thought would be part of your future and embrace sucking for a while. You have to be honest with your fans and ask for their patience while clearly laying out a well thought out plan on how to get back to being competitive.

It has a lot to do with timing as well which is why I think there really isn’t and hasn’t been a better time than right now. Aggressively trade anyone and everyone you can and go all in on a rebuild before the deadline is over! Position this team to get a high draft pick for at least a few years while collecting as much 2026/2027 ready talent as you can with an emphasis on bats. Pitching we can always buy and develop. Bats are what have been impossible for them to find and they could get 4-5 potential impact bats before the deadline with a flurry of trades.

Fans are ready for it and I think would be fine with a year or two of building and enjoying seeing younger players develop. The farm looks a lot like the major league team, incredibly average and it’s time to do something about it!
