  1. Regarding Duffy, let's just hope he doesn't go the way of Brock Bond. Light-hitting middle infielder (albeit with slightly more power) with great AVG and OBP (2009) and then never heard of since (now out of baseball).

    1. First of all, Brock Bond did not have the arm to play 2B, let alone SS. Secondly, Duffy has WAY more power than Brock Bond ever thought of having.

  2. Has Kurrasch officially entered the radar at this point? In all the dreck that is the Giants pitching prospects this year, he has been a nice night-light.

    1. Yeah, I guess it has been pretty disappointing watching the Giant pitching prospects struggle but I wouldn't call it dreck..The main word that pops up to me is inconsistent, but is that really unexpected? Except for into Fresno, almost entire rotations were aggressively pushed up levels and a lot of these pitchers are young for that level.....And what we are seeing is some great games by the starters and then some bad ones....Be it Escobar to Fresno...Crick, Meija and Marte in RIch (Black has been hurt and BLACH has been just ffine)....FLores, Young, Gregorio in SJ (NOW, STRATTON has been a disappointment with his inconsistencies..) and Ysla, Meulla, Jones, and Johnson in Aug...Some nights these guys are great, other nights, meh.......I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more consistency and a lot better performance over the next two months....Well, I hope so

And, as you mentioned, there have also been other good perfromances like Kurrasch, Ray Black , Steve Okert, Law before injury and Strickland coming back from one, SNODGRASS/FLEEET (famialr with ECL), Mizenko, Ysla and others..

    2. Yeah, the word "dreck" is WAY off base here.

    3. I over spoke "dreck", but in comparison to what was expected (rightfully or not), it tourned to "dreck".

Regardless, the point of the post was Kurrasch, not the word "dreck"...

    4. I think Kurrasch is turning himself into a legitimate #4, #5 SP prospect.

    5. Got you Cal, good point on Kurrrasch. I'm just guess that many of the pitchers in the sytem that we thought highly of coming into the season will shed their inconsistencies in the 2nd half.. Being healthy ala Blackburn and others will also help

  3. I hope they keep challenging Duffy like Fresno this year? Who knows, but it sure would make it easier to make a decision on Adrianza.
