Mikey Edie(CF)- 3 for 4, SB(1).  BA= .750.
Kelvin Beltre(SS)- 0 for 1, 3 BB.  BA= .000.

Edie and Beltre are the kids to keep an eye on in the DSL this year.  Natanial Javier is on the Restricted list.  He should get to play for about 6 weeks at the end of the season after his 50 game suspension is completed.

  1. The Mikey Edie experience has begun! Strong start, something our yoots don't always get to. We love our potential 5-tool (remember, they have to hit, and with power to be 5!) guys something fierce. For those who haven't heard his name yet, he was a little league world series hero for VZ, muscling up HRs as a 12 year old.

    1. How did we end up getting to sign him? Inside connection? Would think he would be in demand. Odd, maybe I read in the wrong places, but while I see commentary about DR top prospect bidding, I never seem to hear about other countries. Say, given that we have a bushel full of VZ players on our 25-man roster, do you think that helps us in signing up people?

    2. The Giants are very active in Venezuela and do seem to have connections there.
