Game Wrap 6/26/2014: Reds 3 Giants 1

The euphoria from Timmy's no-hitter did not last long as the Giants offense laid down and died in front of Mike Leake wasting a solid effort from Ryan Vogelsong.  Key Lines:

Adam Duvall- 1 for 4, HR(1).  BA= .250.  Duvall got the start at 1B when Morse was a last  minute scratch.  I didn't see most of the game, but I did see Duvall's HR.  He was off balance on a pretty good breaking ball and was still able to hook it out of the park.  he also lined out to 3B off Aroldis Chapman.  Very impressive!  My current comp for Duvall as a hitter is Tommy Medica of the Padres who I think is a good hitter with potential for more.

Ryan Vogelsong- 6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 3.96.  One of Vogey's better efforts, but did not get the hitting support he needed.

Mike Leake(Reds)- 8 IP,  4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 12 K's.  ERA= 3.41.  Leake is a good, consistent pitcher, but he generally does not put up lines like this.  The Giants lineup had to have made it easy for him.  On the other hand, I saw him spotting the FB and putting batters away with a wicked breaking ball with a sharp, downward bite, so maybe he was just this good last night.

The Dodgers edged the Cards 1-0 to move up to 2 games behind the NL West leading Giants.

Madison Bumgarner tries to be the stopper once again tonight facing Johnny Cueto.
