Keith Bilodeau(RHP)- 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 0.00.
Some of these guys are college draftees from major programs who are probably playing at too low a level. Still, it's better to be playing well than not well at whatever level you find yourself at.
DSL Giants downed the Mets1 3-1:
Emmanuel De Jesus(LHP)- 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 9 K's. ERA= 1.74.
Yet another dominating start by De Jesus. In 8 starts he has a line of 4-1, 0.63, 43 IP, 12 BB, 56 K's. Can't wait to see what he an Mejia do in the States next season.

Does Panik start the season in Augusta , San Jose, or Richmond? I think you can rule out Augusta. He is just killing SK to badly to send him to A-. I would not be shocked to see him start in Richmond, but I do not remember the last time the G's started a guy above San Jose.
ReplyDeleteSusac and your boy Ricky probably start in SJ, along with Jones, Duvall, Willouhby, Fuentes, Rodriguez... Man, that team is gunna be STACKED. With the pitching, though, it will be the exact opposite of their parent club.
panik could get the brown treatment, or just spend 2 months in sj and then go to richmond...may never see fresno
ReplyDeletethey will most likely split the incoming group between augusta and sj...along with many from salk
the thing that i am most excited about is that the team is gonna finally have depth in the catching dept and mi
all this balances out the seeming implosion of this years big squad
and next draft, giants can focus on getting sp and middle relief
and if they get lucky again, they can grab undervalued guys and again sign the vast majority of their draftees
evans and his staff are outbeaning beane
Let's see.....next year's SJ squad? I'll do position players only:
ReplyDeleteC Susac plus 1 or 2 out of Murray, Burkhart and Staley.
1B Oropesa
2B Willoughby? Kaohi Downing?
3B Duvall
SS Panik
OF Chris Lofton
OF Brett Krill
OF Jesus Galindo? Rafael Rodriguez?
Augusta?
C Eric Sim, 1 or 2 out of Murray, Payne and Staley.
1B Ben Thomas Brian Nicholson?
2B Downing?
SS Tomlinson
3B Cuevas
OF Jones?
OF Fuentes?
OF RafRod?
OF Payne/Blair/Merganthaler/Barnett?
Some tough decisions and some good players are going to get left out.
I sketched out who I thought would be in SJ next year, and I came to the same exact infield as you. However, I had your Augusta OF in SJ (Jones, Fuentes, RafRod). Those guys are exceptionally young, though, so maybe it makes more sense putting them in Augusta. But DAYUM, those are 3 HIGH HIGH HIGH ceiling players in the same OF...
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm excited about some of the younger players down in short season ball. I forgot all about Garrett Buechele too. Where does he play, if at all?
ReplyDeleteRoger at MCC posted these two links in one of their threads. I found them fascinating, and useful for rosterbation purposes.
