Down on the Farm: 6/29/2012

AAA  Reno Aces bombed the Fresno Grizzlies 11-3:

Brock Bond(3B)- 3 for 5, 2B.  BA= .323.
Francisco Peguero(CF)- 3 for 5, 2B, 3B(9), Assist(home).  BA= .268.
Conor Gillaspie(1B)- 2 for 4, 3B.  BA= .326.
Dan Runzler(LHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 7.71.

Pegs is hitting .400 over his last 10 games and .342 for the month of June and playing CF to boot.

AA  Reading Phillies edged the Richmond Flying Squirrels 4-3:

Tommy Joseph(C)- 1 for 4, HR(4).  BA= .250.
Gary Brown(CF)- 1 for 3, 2B, BB.  BA= .262.

High A  Lake Elsinore Storm pounded the San Jose Giants 12-3:

Adam Duvall(3B)- 2 for 3, 2B, SF.  BA= .258.
Ricky Oropesa(1B)- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .278.
Alex Burg(LF)- 3 for 4, 2 2B.  BA= .256.
Stephen Harrold(RHP)- 3.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 6.46.

Andrew Berger(RHP)- 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 4.50.

Berger is a 24 yo drafted by the D'Backs out of Lehigh in 2010.  Picked up by the Giants last year.  I believe this is his best appearance as a pro by a large margin.

Short Season  Everett Aquasox topped the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 7-5:

Joseph Rapp(1B)- 1 for 5, HR(2).  BA= .292.
Andrew Cain(RF)- 2 for 4, 2B, BB.  BA= .217.

Travious Relaford(SS)- 2 for 5.  BA= .333.
Jonathan Jones(1B)- 1 for 3, HR(1), 2 HBP.  BA= .188.
Gabriel Cornier(C)- 3 for 4, 2B.  BA= .429.
Shilo McCall(LF)- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .294.

Chris Fern(LHP)- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K, Save(1).  ERA= 0.00.

Good to see Shilo McCall off to a strong start.  Hey, a Travious Relaford sighting!  Ortiz looks like another promising prospect out of the Giants inactive international effort.

DSL  Phillies pounded the Gaints 10-4:

Angel Villalona(DH)- 1 for 2, 3 BB.  BA= .420.
Alejandro Flores(RHP)- 5 IP, 8 H 5 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 8 K's.  ERA= 1.65.

  1. Why did Kyle Crick only go two innings. Was it pitch count related or did he get hurt?

    1. Crick was on both a total pitch count limit and a 1 inning pitch count limit. He exceeded the 1 inning limit.

    2. I should also mention that they are having a hellacious heatwave in Georgia. Game time temp was listed as 106 degrees. Yikes!

  2. Looks like quite a few players are starting off strong in the second half. From Tommy Joseph, Gary Brown, Ricky Oropesa, and Francisco Peguero all starting to heat up. That bodes well for the orgazination going forward.
