    1. Not sure what the Giants really need. They need 2 better starters but the two guys who are the biggest problem are making the most jack. What are they gonna do with them? Belt is emerging at 1B and Riot has 2B covered. Maybe they could use a Josh Willingham type in LF now that Blanco has gone cold. They could use a couple of bullpen arms. I don't see any trades on the horizon that are going to cost anything but a 3'rd tier prospect or two.

  2. Honestly, I don't think the Giants can count on all of the following: 1) the health and stamina of Sandoval; 2) Consistency and enough power from Belt; #) enough power from the OF....Hey, all three might happen but I can see Sabean aquiring a power bat either for the 1b-3b slot or 1B-OF and using a decent prospect to do it...Or just as likely, Schierholtz can be used in any trade.....I think with the emergence of Theriot and the defensive stability of Crawford (and the ability of Arias to play both positions) that middle IF will take a back seat..

You gotta think that Sabean is already looking at internal (Hacker, Petit, Heston) and external options for a starting pitcher.....If Lincecum straightens out in the next few weeks, I can see Sabean staying in house...But if both continue to flounder, Sabean will have to go outside for ONE starter, again at the cost of a decent prospect.....

But hey, one injury can change anything...

  3. Good to see the big names in SJ plug away on decent years. No break-throughs, unfortunately, but plugging along is acceptable.

Is JCP re-establishing himself as a B prospect?

  4. Are Chuckie Jones and Rafael Rodriguez just rehabbing in Salem-Keizer?

I thought they would be at higher levels than Salem this year.

    1. Well, Chuckie started the year in Augusta, but washed out there, so he's trying to find a floor at a lower level. Raffy was in and out of the lineup all las year presumably from nagging injuries and his year kin o got worse as it went along, so he's lookinf for a new start too.
