  1. with luke jackson's roster spot in jeopardy, bivens could be getting a look sooner than later.

  2. Jackson has 12 games with 0 ER, 3 games with 1 ER each, & 3 games that inflated his ERA:
    In Game 1 of the season, he faced 3 batters, came out with an injury, and all three runners scored on a botched defensive play and poor relief;
    In the Pirate game he came in with a 6-2 lead, got an out, allowed a hit and a walk who were allowed to score by Doval plus 2 more of his own;
    In his last outing, he came in with the Giants behind and was beaten by ground balls, pop ups, and 1 well-hit ball.
    Although Jackson spent 25 days on the IL, he is 6th on the Giants with 18 appearances.
    With 7 years of service time, if he loses his roster spot, some team will get a fairly good pitcher pretty cheap. He may well be tradeable for a middling prospect with the Giants paying some of his $11.5M salary.
    Until he fails badly, which he hasn't done yet, he is safe.
