Nice game for Cole Foster, the Giants 3'rd round draft pick from last year. Reminder that A ball is a conservative placement for a high draft pick from a major college program like Auburn.

Has Carson Whisenhunt shown enough to merit moving up?
ReplyDeleteOr are the 3 (or 4?) "injured" SPs close enough to joining the Giants to make another 40-man cut for Whisenhunt unlikely?
No he hasn’t shown enough. He missed way too much time last year in his first minor league year and is struggling too much to get called up. Yeah it’s AAA but considering how much time he missed last year and that he’s been up and down so far in AAA, you’d like to see more up than down. You don’t want to blow a 40 man roster spot yet on a guy you’re just going to have to send back dkwn
DeleteI think Bryce Eldridge is having a good season at San Jose and his future looks promising, 10 hrs 44 rbi in 47 games played He's a high school draftee, I'm excited to see what the future holds for him.
ReplyDeleteA player who is perhaps flying under the radar is SS Christian Koss. In the notorious hard-for-hitters Eastern League, he is slashing .415/.467/.660 in 15 games. Acquired from the Red Sox, he is 26, so a bit old for his level, but still, sometimes late bloomers can contribute. Maybe a promotion to AAA soon?
ReplyDeleteFrom June 11 to June 16 in Reno, Matos had 6 spectacular games: 13 for 28, 6 doubles and 5 HRs, 2 BB, 1 HBP, and 1 K.
ReplyDeleteWow! If only he could do that at sea level!
Through a very small period with the SF Giants, he had a record breaking amount of RBI’s, so technically he has already succeeded at the sea level in a short period of time. Problem is, his numbers in the minors and majors aren’t looking very good with the larger sample size. Hopefully he can figure it out, still a very young guy
