Down on the Farm: 6/16/2024

AAA:  Reno Aces defeated the Sacramento River Cats 10-6:

Luis Matos RF- 2 for 5, 2B, HR(8).  BA= .256.

Brett Auerbach LF- 1 for 4, HR(3).  BA= .325.
Grant McCray CF- 2 for 4, SB(3).  BA= .280.

Great series for Luis Matos. He probably needs to prove it wasn't just the extreme hitting environment of Reno.  I have no idea who Jerar Encarnacion is.  Somebody The Churn washed in?

  1. Jerar Encarnacion was tearing up the Mexican league earlier this year and the Giants signed him to a minor league deal about a month ago. He is listed as 6'4" and 250 lbs. He bats and throws right handed. He had a cup of coffee in the Big leagues with Miami in 2022: in 77 At bats he hit 3 home runs and struck out 32 times. APGiantsfan

  3. Jonah Cox (22 yo) and Bryce Eldridge (19) lead SJ in almost every offensive category (including K's).
Both were drafted in 2023, Eldridge was picked 16th, Cox from college by the A's in the 6th round who traded him for Stripling. He's slightly old for A ball. He has 38 SB's & 3 CS and a OBP of .427
Are both ready to move up?
