The Giants had the lead twice in this one, but finally suffered their first walk-off loss of the season. Key Lines:
Norichika Aoki- 2 for 4. BA= .336. Since an 0 of 10 skid May 29-31, Aoki has an 8 game hit streak in which he has gone 18 for 35. He is second to Dee Gordon in NL hits with 77 and is on a pace for 193 for the season.
Brandon Crawford- 1 for 4 HR(9). BA= .287. Crawford pulls into a tie with Buster Posey for the team HR lead and regains the lead in fWAR at 2.5 to Joe Panik's 2.4. Those two are on a pace for almost 6 fWARs apiece by the end of the season.
Tim Lincecum- 4.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 3.33. Timmy sailed through the first 3 innings allowing just 1 baserunner on a walk with 4 K's. He allowed an unearned run in the 4'th after starting the inning out with another K. Things came unraveled in the 5'th after he allowed a leadoff double to the opposing pitcher and he couldn't get out of the inning. It was a hot steamy night in the Big City and Timmy has a long history of wilting in the heat so that probably explains the sequence of events in his start.
Hunter Strickland gave up the tying run on 3 hits against no outs in his relief appearance. Romo, who is having all kinds of trouble with LH batters took the Loss.
The Loss dropped the second place Giants 1.5 games behind the NL West leading Dodgers. The Giants lead in the race for the first Wild Card playoff spot shrank to 0.5 games with a 1 game lead for the second spot.
The Giants now return to AT&T Park for a weekend series against the D'Backs. Madison Bumgarner pitches tonight facing RHP Chase Anderson.
