There might not be many openings on the Giants active roster after the Trade Deadline as was anticipated most of the season.

This is the kind of dominant start you hope to see a lot more of from Jose Marte.  He has the talent for it.

A Augusta Greenjackets outscored the Lexington Legends 11-10:

Ismael Munguia RF- 2 for 5, BB.  BA= .291.

My comp for Ismael Munguia is Marvin Benard.  Now, if you think Brandon Belt is a polarizing player......

  1. Have to say I'm ok with us not being sellers and not opening up spots (on either 25 or 40). It seems the progression of prospects is pretty good. In that list, I'd put (from High A ball or above):

    Bart (C)
    Ramos (OF)
    Fabian (OF)
    Reynolds (OF)
    Webb (S)

Also got some time to see about other guys like Shaw, Williams, Suarez and Marte. Might be some others but that is half of a starting rotation, an entire OF (which doesn't seem as necessary now), and a Catcher and 1B. There are also a high number of RPs at those levels. So we find a team that has gotten younger (least in the OF) and added 2 back of the rotation pitchers, with guys setting up to step in going forward. Can't say that is a bad thing.
