Game Wrap 4/14/2019: Rockies 4 Giants 0

Derek Holland battled his command all game which led to a 3-run dinger for Nolan Arenado, but it really didn't matter.  Kevin Pillar's HBP and Evan Longoria's groundball single in the 8'th inning were all that stood between Rockies SP, German Marquez, and a perfecto.  Key Lines:

Derek Holland LHP- 6 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 BB, 6 K's.  ERA= 4.09.  It was a tight strike zone all day but Holland wasn't all that close with many of his misses, particularly with his slider, which left him vulnerable to location mistakes.  He actually compensated quite well until Arenado made him pay big time with a 3-run dinger in the 5'th inning.  And again, in the end it didn't really matter.  The Giants never came close to scoring on Marquez.

The Indians DFA'd SS Brad Miller today.  He seems like the type of player Farhan Zaidi would have an interest in.

1 comment:

  1. Brad Miller: another LHB IFer! Who would he replace?
He professes to love Cleveland, except the guy who DFA'd him. Wait until he meets Farhan if it got to that -- the guy who DFA'd Mac Williamson for a Joe and a Reed!
