Down on the Farm: 4/25/2019

AAA  Sacramento River Cats topped the Tacoma Rainiers 8-2:

Mac Williamson LF- 4 for 5, 2B.  BA= .370.
Michael Reed RF- 1 for 3, BB, SB(2).  BA= .245.
Aramis Garcia C- 1 for 4, HR(4), BB.  BA= .208.
Donovan Solano 3B- 2 for 4, HR(1).  BA= .364.

Enderson Franco RHP- 5.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 4.96.

Mac keeps rolling.  Seems pretty obvious he would be both an immediate and future upgrade to LF for the Giants.

AA Richmond Flying Squirrels were idle.

A+ Modesto Nuts pounded the Sacramento River Cats 9-5:

Bryce Johnson RF- 1 for 5, HR(1).   BA= .203.

A  Delmarva Shorebirds edged out the Augusta Greenjackets 4-3:

Keaton Winn RHP- 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 2.65.

The obvious big story from the first month in Augusta is Frankie Tostado just destroying the SAL.  Stay hot, Frankie!

  1. Mac was batting out of the 2 spot. According to game day, two of the hits were soft infield hits. But, a hit's a hit. And I agree with your assessment. If he keeps this up over the next week, I wouldn't be shocked to see him back on the major league roster. I can almost guarantee that this will be his last shot.

  2. Mac is heating up in Sac just like last year and without dispute he is forcing his way on the 25. So many fans in his corner - exciting to watch the Sac boxscore each day ...

  3. Bill laskey comments on the fact big mac made another adjustments with his hand being lower so he can get to the ball quicker. This is why he is on a 9 game hitting streak. Getting to the ball quicker and going up the middle of the field and inside/out the ball as well. I think he is not ready to succeed yet. He still doesn't get the ball up in the air enough for being a man with his power.
