The Giants fell behind early in this one which is generally not a good sign for the outcome of the game. Huddy somehow managed to pitch into the 7'th inning, but gave up a barrage of 15 hits in the process including two big ones to to the opposing pitcher, Dan Haren. Key Lines:
Brandon Belt- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .274. I think we can officially declare Brandon Belt out of his slump. He has 5 game hit streak going and is hitting .333 over his last 10 games.
Matt Duffy- 1 for 3, 2B. BA= .267. It's awfully hard to take a hot player out of the lineup and Duffy stayed hot with a double in this one. We'll see if that earned him another start at 3B. He's 5 for 10 over his last 3 games.
Tim Hudson- 6.1 IP, 15 H, 6 R, 0 BB, 3 K's, GO/AO= 11/0. ERA= 4.50. At Saber would look at this line and say he was BABIP'd like crazy, but that's what happens to low K pitchers.
The Loss dropped the Giants into a tie for 3'rd place, 4.5 games behind the Dodgers after Yasmani Grandal went off on the BrewCrew. The D'Backs, fresh off their pounding of the Rockies kept it going with an 11-0 thrashing of the Padres who dropped 4 games back of the Dodgers. The Giants lead the D'Backs by percentage points.
Tim Lincecum tries to even the series facing Jared Cosart tonight.
