AAA Sacramento River Cats cooled off the Albuquerque Isotopes 5-2:
Ehire Adrianza(SS)- 2 for 3, 2 BB. BA= .306.
Adam Duvall(3B)- 3 for 5, HR(10). BA= .315.
Jarrett Parker(LF)- 2 for 5. BA= .248.
Austin Fleet(RHP)- 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 6.59.
Hunter Strickland(RHP)- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K, Save(5). ERA= 1.74.
Erik Cordier was activated from the DL and DFA'd. The Giants now have 10 days to work out a trade before placing him on waivers. It seems unlikely that he would pass through waivers without being claimed by another team. I guess it's good that the Giants don't have room for him on the 25 man active roster, but I sure hate to see him go to another team.
AA Richmond Flying Squirrels pounded the Bowie Baysox 9-4:
Kelby Tomlinson(2B)- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .308.
Rando Moreno(SS)- 2 for 5. BA= .288.
Mac Williamson(DH)- 3 for 4, 2B, HR(3). BA= .313.
Devin Harris(RF)- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .281.
Daniel Carbonell(LF)- 2 for 4. BA= .164.
Jack Snodgrass(LHP)- 7 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 4.50.
Big Mac obviously DH'd and was lifted for a PH late. No mention of injury in the game writeup on the Squirrels website.
High A Visalia Rawhide outslugged the San Jose Giants 9-8:
Hunter Cole(LF)- 2 for 4, BB. BA= .333.
Austin Slater(2B)- 3 for 5, 2B. BA= .325.
Ty Ross(Catcher)- 2 for 3, 2B, 2 BB. BA= .200.
John Polonius(SS)- 2 for 4, BB. BA= .214.
Tyler Beede(RHP)- 5.2 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 0 BB, 6 K's, GO/AO= 7/2. ERA= 2.97.
Looking at Beede's ratios, it would appear that he had a true regression due to BABIP bad luck abetted by bad fielding. Of course, BABIP bad luck is something you have to live with when you pitch to contact and why pitching to contact probably limits your ceiling. On the other hand, it may keep your pitch counts down, keep you in games longer and give you more durability.
Low A Hickory Crawdads topped the Augusta Greenjackets 5-4:
Skyler Ewing(1B)- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .205.
Jose Reyes(RHP)- 7 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 1 BB, 10 K's. ERA= 1.54.
Rodolfo Martinez(RHP)- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. ERA= 5.06.
Reyes has a dominant start by K/BB. Thanks to Covechatter for picking up a David Lee tweet that Martinez touched 99 MPH on the radar gun.
Yoan Moncada makes his US pro debut today for the Greenville Drive in the SAL.
