Did I hear right on the broadcast last night that Bowker's wife is a producer for Comcast? Ben Turner is on a tear in his AAA debut.

Bowker's sister works for Comcast for the last 3 yrs. The Great debate continues. Arenado vs. Jones for future 3B? With Crawford locked in for a while at SS as is Panik at 2B...where is does Arroyo fit in? Should Arroyo be in the discussion for 3B also?
ReplyDeleteDon't forget Delfino.
DeleteArenado's stats, very early in his minor league career are somewhat like his brother's, though he is year older at this level.
Wow, is that why Bowker returned to us? I thought he was mad at us at some point, so I was surprised to see him come back.
ReplyDeleteWhat are your thoughts about Beede at this point?
I would guess that Bowker signing to play in Sacramento had something to do with where his wife works.
DeleteAh, makes sense, so he would have joined the A's if they were still the team there.
DeleteFYI, there is a BA article on Beede by Baggarly if any of you subscribe.
Hey, sorry to hijack the post, but wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the new mlb.com top 30 International Prospects list? http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2015?list=int
ReplyDeleteThe Giants are not listed as favorites to sign any of them...Are they limited in any way on how much they can spend come July 2?
And speaking of prospects, I'm sure we're all waiting on the edge of our seats to see when Gustavo Cabrera finally shows up in a box score.
Alan
All teams have a spending cap for each international signing period. There are some teams that are willing to spend much more than their cap and then pay the penalties. The Giants have shown no indication they are willing to do that.
DeleteAustin Slater, what a game. How soon do you think he might get promoted to Double-A if he keeps itup.
ReplyDeleteHigh A was an aggressive assignment for Slater and he's learning new positions, so I do not expect a promotion before August at the earliest.
