Game Wrap 4/15/2016: Dodgers 7 Giants 4

Madison Bumgarner fell victim to the longball and poor defense behind him as the Dodgers cruised to an easy win in Dodger Stadium.  Key Lines:

Angel Pagan- 2 for 4.  BA= .385.  Pagan continues to be a bright spot which complicates potential playing time for Mac Williamson.

Buster Posey- 0 for 4.  BA= .290.  It's my belief that nagging injuries impact the game much more than we know, and much more than the sabermetric crowd would like to admit.  Buster is 0 of 8 since coming back from a bruised foot.

Kelby Tomlinson- 0 for 3, 2 E.  BA= .167.  Adrianza's loss  is going to hurt, more on defense than offense.

Mac Williamson- 0 for 1.  BA= .000.  Mac gets the call to replace Adrianza, but Big Mac can't play or 3B.  He did give Clayton Kershaw a spirited AB forcing him to throw 9 pitches.  The Giants need more AB's like that every time they face Kershaw.

Madison Bumgarner- 5 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 4.50.  Again, the peripherals look good, but ownage is apparently ownage.  Enrique "Kike" Hernandez apparently owns Bummy and took him deep twice in one game.  I mean, when does that ever happen?  Some shaky D from the Giants 3'rd string SS didn't help either.

Derek Law- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 0.00.  Derek Law makes his much anticipated MLB debut, at least anticipated by us prospect watchers.  He did not disappoint, showing nasty stuff while striking out the side in the 7'th inning.  It's just 1 game, but I don't think any of us are surprised.  Put Law in the short list for Giants Closer of the future.

The Loss dropped the Giants record to 6-5 and into 3'rd place in the NL West. The Dodgers are in first place at 7-4 while the Rockies topped the Cubs 6-1 to move past the Giants with a 6-4 record.  In a battle of last place teams, the D'Backs beat the Padres leaving the Snakes at 4-7, 3 games behind the Dodgers and the Pathetic Padres at 3-8, 4 games back.

Johnny Cueto tries to be the stopper and break the Giants 3 game losing streak against Scott Kazmir tonight in Dodger Stadium.  It's Santa Ana weather in SoCal this weekend, so Dodger Stadium is going to play like a bandbox.
