Down on the Farm: 4/9/2016

AAA  Salt Lake City Bees swarmed the Sacramento River Cats 6-0:

Mac Williamson LF- 1 for 4, 2B.  BA= .250.
Chris Stratton RHP- 6 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 0 BB, 3 K's, GO/AO= 9/4.  ERA= 9.00.

Stratton's line is pretty typical of what we've gotten used to seeing from him.  No dingers, so BABIP luck may be a factor, but how long can you keep saying it's luck?

AA Game 1  Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels 5-1:

Ricky Oropesa 1B- 1 for 3, HR(2).  BA= .333.
Chase Johnson RHP- 4 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 3 K's, GO/AO= 7/1.  ERA= 6.75.

AA Game 2  Richmond Flying Squirrels topped the Hartford Yard Goats 4-0:

Ricky Oropesa 1B- 1 for 3, HR(3).  BA= .333.
Ryder Jones 3B- 1 for 3, 2B.  BA= .333.
Joan Gregorio RHP- 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K's, GO/AO= 5/0.  ERA= 0.00.
Dan Slania RHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 0.00
Ray Black RHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 0.00.

Ricky is on fire in the early going.  He'll be looking for consistency this year.  I'm thinking this could be Gregorio's breakout year.  He'll have to stay healthy.  Look for Slania to move up the bullpen depth chart.

High A  San Jose Giants vs Lancaster Jethawks postponed.

Low A  Augusta Greenjackets edged out the Rome Braves 4-3:

Lucious Fox SS- 2 for 4, HR(1), SB(1).  BA= .250.
Kelvin Beltre 3B- 1 for 4, 2B.  BA= .222.
Logan Webb RHP- 4 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 1 K.  ERA= 6.75.
Conner Kaden RHP- 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, GO/AO= 6/1.  ERA= 0.00.

Now THAT is a line fitting of a young 5-tool prospect!  Fox's that is.

  1. Surprised Kyle Crick didn't pitch in the double header yesterday if he is in the pen now. Typically use a lot of your arms.

    1. I think Shankbone or Covechatter mentioned on their blog that Crick is back in the rotation for Richmond. We'll see when he turns up in a boxscore.

    2. Really glad to see Crick back in the rotation. The move to the bullpen didn't help him like we had hopped, and I still have hope that if he eventually turns it around it will be as a starter. Even though he was walking way to many batters he wasn't giving up very many runs as a starter.
