Down on the Farm: 09-03-2010

AAA Fresno Grizzlies slammed the Tacoma Rainiers 10-7 in 12 innnings:

Eugenio Velez- 4 for 7, HR(7), SB(31). BA= .303.
Jesus Guzman- 2 for 6, HR(18). BA= .319.
Brett Pill- 3 for 6, 2B. BA= .277.
Ben Copeland- 3 for 6, HR(4). BA= .284.
Tyler Graham- 2 for 6. BA= .352.
Kevin Pucetas- 6 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 3 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 5.69.
Joe Paterson- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 3.59.

I get the feeling that Velez is slowly but surely refining his game. He is certainly a much more effective base-stealer than at any time in the past. I have a feeling he's going to find a niche and turn in a season or two like Andres Torres this year for somebody. Might not be with the Giants though. Joe Paterson with the dominant outing.

AA Bowie Baysox beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels 5-3:

Nothing to see here.

High A Visalia Rawhide downed the San Jose Giants 5-2:

Francisco Peguero- 3 for 5, 2 2B, OF Assist. BA= .325.
James Simmons- 2 for 4. BA= .256.
Kyle Woodruff- 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K. ERA= 3.02.

Peguero is finishing the year red hot: .390 over his last 10 games. .361 post All-Star break.

Low A Augusta Greenjackets pounded the Delmarva Shorebirds 10-3:

Nick Liles- 2 for 5, SB(28). BA= .317.
Chris Dominguez- 2 for 4, 3B, HR(19), BB. BA= .271.
Ryan Cavan- 4 for 5, 2B, HR(17). BA= .284.
Tommy Joseph- 2 for 5. BA= .236.
Zack Wheeler- 5 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 3 K's, GO/AO=11/0. ERA= 3.99.

Dominguez is finishing with a flourish: .297/.400/.595 in his last 10 games. Dig the 5 BB's in 42 PA's against 6 K's. Liles and Cavan are finishing strong too.

Short Season Salem-Keizer Volcanoes edged the Eugene Emeralds 2-1:

Gary Brown- 1 for 3, HBP. BA= .133.
Dan Burkhart- 2 for 3, BB. BA= .350.
Devin Harris- 3 for 4, 3B. BA= .278.
John Eshleman- 2 for 4, 2B. BA= .235.
Shawn Sanford- 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 K's, GO/AO= 10/2. ERA= 2.14.
Kaohi Downing- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 1.47.

Devin Harris has really come to life here at the end of the season.
