Trent Harris RHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K's.  ERA= 1.98.

Bryce Eldridge blows past 20 HR and double digits in two leagues.  I agree with the comments from yesterday that he won't be back in A+ ball next season.

A+:  Eugene Emeralds outscored the Everett Aquasox 7-5(game 2 of DH, 7 innings):

Bryce Eldridge DH- 1 for 3, 2B, BB.  BA= .329.
Sabin Ceballos 3B- 2 for 4, 2B, HR(4).  BA= .295.

Ceballos should start next season in AA too.

A: Rancho Cucamonga Quakes destroyed the San Jose Giants 9-1:

Jeremiah Jenkins DH- 2 for 4.  BA= .313.
Josh Bostick RHP- 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 4.62.

A Marques Johnson sighting!

  2. Reminder: San Francisco got LHP Tyler Matzek and 3B Sabin Ceballos for RF Jorge Soler and RHP Luke Jackson.
    Giants waived Matzek this week.
Ceballos was Braves’ No. 17 prospect by MLB Pipeline, #22 preseason on Prospects 1500, #14 on Fangraphs Top 36 (Braves), 40 FV; Comment: Contact and defense-oriented third baseman who lacks the power typical of third.

  3. Eldridge for sure looks like a future big leaguer. Just based on the power alone, which seems legit. He’s just been not only consistent with the power all year but he’s gotten better as the year has gone on. And the dude is a 6’7 lefty, he doesn’t strike out a ton and he walks a solid amount. On top of all that is that he’s a first year player out of High school. I don’t think the guy is having an amazing or dominant season necessarily, but when you look at all the factors there’s no doubt he’s having a very very impressive year.

    1. Eldridge's August slash in 88 ABs: .375/.472/.784/1.256
Not bad for a 19-year old in his 2nd professional year playing 3.4 years below average for A ball.
