Down on the Farm: 7/27/2019

AAA  Tacoma Rainiers beat the Sacramento River Cats 5-2:

Abiatal Avelino SS- 2 for 4.  BA= .288.
Enderson Franco RHP- 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 6.29.
Travis Bergen LHP- 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 K's.  ERA= 4.85.
Nick Vincent RHP- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 0.00.
Williams Jerez LHP- 1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 1 K.  ERA= 4.14.

Avelino is batting .322 in July.  He's actually been remarkably consistent hitting .286 pre All-Star and .300 post All-Star.  Not sure how the Travis Bergen 60-day IL thing plays out, but it seems like if he is well enough to be pitching, he's got to come off sometime and will have to be added back onto the 25-man active roster or be offered back to the Blue Jays.

Ty Blach was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for Logan Webb to come off the Suspended list.

1 comment:

  1. If Logan Webb is for real, he might be the 5th Giant on MLB's top 100 joining Bart, Ramos, Luciano, & Bishop.
Will they get any more for Bumgarner, Smith, Dyson, and Watson?
Might they catapult to one of the best systems?
Giants farm system jumped up to No. 15 in Baseball America ranking.
Then there's Patrick Ruotolo: he was successful at every level including AA before something befell him. shouldn't he finish the season somewhere other than the AZL?
