AAA: Tacoma Rainiers erupted over the Sacramento River Cats 15-4:
Luis Matos LF- 1 for 4, HR(13). BA= .247.
Wade Meckler RF- 1 for 4, HR(3). BA= .310.
Meck hits his second HR in 2 games and 3'rd in 5. He must have read my comments about his lack of power. Luis Matos homers in his third consecutive game.
AA: Altoona Curve defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels 6-1:
Carter Howell CF- 3 for 4. BA= .278.
I'm impressed by Howell's consistency since his promotion to AA which is usually a tough transition.
A+: Tri-Cities Dust Devils beat the Eugene Emeralds 6-3:
NTSH.
A: San Jose Giants crushed the Modesto Nuts 15-7:
Lisbel Diaz RF- 3 for 5, 2B, HBP. BA= .237.
Robert Hipwell DH- 1 for 2, 2B, 2 BB, 2 HBP. BA= .190.
Elian Rayo 3B- 2 for 6, 2B. BA= .260.
Guillermo Williamson 1B- 4 for 6, 2 HR(10). BA= .231.
Estanlin Cassiani LF- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .205.
Josh Bostick RHP- 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 4.85.
Williamson's 4 hits and 2 HR's produced 8 RBI's.
DSL: Giants Black edged out the Marlins 3-2(Game 2 of DSL Quarterfinals):
Anyelo Gonzalez C- 2 for 4.
Oliver Tejada CF- 1 for 3, 2B, BB.
Ricardo Estrada LHP- 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K's, GO/AO= 5/1. ERA= 0.00.
Not just in a tough transition, Howell also hits in losing causes: he'd fit in well with the Giants!
ReplyDeleteHow many CFers is too many?
ReplyDeleteBacking up Lee next year will be a plethora of candidates, maybe including Carter Howell who is already 25 yo.
Howell was born in Fargo, ND, and attended Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD – no wonder he was overlooked!
CF in system: McCray, Meckler, Matos, Ramos, Bishop, Pinder, Howell, Brown, Cox
In Munter interview Meckler said per instruction he put on 20 lbs last offseason and plans to put on 10 this. (Not at the training table.) Iwonder if all that work related to whatever injuries hit hom this year?
