An OF error by Grant McCray in the 8'th inning led to an unearned winning run for the Guardians in Goodyear, AZ. Key Lines:
J. D. Davis 1B- 2 for 2. BA= .333. It's about time some of the Giants veterans started hitting.
Brett Wisely 2B- 1 for 2, HR(2), BB. BA= .429. The Giants seem high on Wisely. His minor league numbers suggest he is more of a speed than power guy but he's showing plenty of power so far in the spring.
Tristan Beck RHP- 3 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 7.20. Beck gave up 3 runs in his third inning of work. Interesting that he's made two spring starts before we've seen Anthony DeSclafani RHP or Alex Wood LHP and I'm not sure why Beck seems to be ahead of Sean Hjelle RHP on the SP depth chart.
Kade McClure RHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. ERA= 3.00. McClure was acquired in the offseason from the ChiSox for Gregory Santos RHP. He looks like a better prospect than Santos to me.
R. J. Dabovich RHP and Randy Rodriguez RHP pitched scoreless frames.
Split squad games tomorrow with Anthony DeSclafani making his spring debut against the Rockies in Scottsdale and Sean Manaea LHP traveling to Surprise, AZ to take on the Rangers.
Joey Bart reportidly told Kai Correa that Wisely is his pick for the annual Barney Nugent award given to a young player in his 1st camp. Hoping Wisely can turn into another similar Tampa Bay player Jake Cronenworth traded to the Padres .a couple of years ago.

The good news is Heliot is still only 23.
Henry didn't start playing well in AAA until he was 25. In 364 AAA games he slashed .297/.350/.471/.822 (although his time as a River Cat was his worst).
Glass half empty or half full – isn't Heliot supposed to be the better brother?
Will he stoke well in AAA this year and jump running with SF?
We can hope for that. He has 2 more option years.
