  1. The problem for Joey Bart and the Giants is Jeffrey Parra (20 yo 2016 rnd 24) and Rob Calabrese (22 yo 2017 rnd 10) who are splitting the time in Augusta and neither is showing much, and neither is ready to move up. Calabrese did pretty well at SK last year, Parra not so much.
Matt Winn has done most of the catching this year (SJ), just turned 26, Ks a lot, will the Giants move him up and pair with Aramis Garcia (25 yo 2014 rnd 2). Garcia could move to Sac with his 25% K rate.
Bart may just jump to San Jose. Trial by fire. Push Winn to AA, Garcia to AAA.
    And Hundley gets another year.

    1. I seriously doubt the Giants would let any of those other catchers stand in the way of a Bart promotion if they feel he is ready for that.

If he does get promoted, I would think it would be to San Jose since that is where he is likely to start next season.

    2. Why do you think they haven't done it already?
He quite undermatched at S-K -- .395/.750/.346 for an OPS of 1.145. That's almost Bondsian (21 yo @ AAA): .311/.435/.527/.963. S-K's not anywhere close to AAA but Bart isn't supposed to be Bonds.
A little better comp would be Bonds' 20 yo @ A: .299/.383/.547/.930, younger and higher class, but, wow, to even have numbers that can be compared to Bonds is something!

    3. Winn moved to AA
      Garcia to AAA
Bart may be held to build his confidence and limit travel fatigue of moving. Ease him into the realities of pro ball.
