AAA Las Vegas 51's edged out the Sacramento River Cats 4-3:
Mac Williamson LF- 1 for 2, 3B, BB, SF. BA= .446.
Hunter Pence RF- 2 for 4. BA= .329.
Dereck Rodriguez RHP- 6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 7 K's. ERA= 3.40.
DJ Snelton LHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 4.60.
Manny Parra LHP- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. ERA= 2.55.
The Giants continue to troll their "Lunatic Fringe" by keeping Mac, Slater and Pence in AAA. At least 1 of those guys could almost certainly help the Giants right now. If the Giants need SP help before Bum is ready, Dereck Rodriguez looks like the guy.

Luigi had a come-down-to-earth-day going 1-7 although he ignited the 2-out 3-run winning rally in the 5th inning of the 1st game. His K leading off today (Thursday) dropped his average below .400 indicating expected mortality and leaving Mac Williamson as the .400+ everyday player in the system.
ReplyDeleteFREE MAC!
With Eury Perez going on the 10-day DL in Sacramento, the 'Cats will probably need Williamson, Slater, and Pence more than the Giants who are on their way to a winnable series in Chicago -- winnable if they could put their best players on the field.
Proud Member of the "Lunatic Fringe"
Luigi singled in his 2nd AB, finding his way to .404! Then a ground out leaving him at exactly .400!
ReplyDeleteHe could move to Sacramento to replace the injured Perez, perhaps freeing up Williamson or Slater or Pence for a promotion.
(Tim Tebow is in the OF against Richmond today, I guess having fun at 30 yo.)
More from the Lunatic Fringe
Kudos to FO for signing Dereck Rod. and Alan Hanson - but they management of Slater, Mac is a disaster. Giants got fleeced on trade for Moore and McCutcheon. Signing of Blanco and Ajax is a Fail. Melancon: Fail. Pence contract overly generous. FO deserves heavy scrutiny for roster construction.
ReplyDeleteCutch deal was fine.
DeleteMac, Pence got hurt and were held down to preserve control of assets.
Blanco was practically free and has been largely average.
Pence deal was 5 years ago.
FO for much praise for turning a hopeless roster into one that would compete. They deserve that praise.
I read today that Slater is hitting .396/.472/.679. He couldn't possibly be worse than Jackson & Blanco are right now.
