Down on the Farm: 4/30/2018

AAA  Lase Vegas 51's outslugged the Sacramento River Cats 9-5:

Hunter Pence RF- 2 for 4, BB.  BA= .250.
Kyle Jensen 1B- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .222.
Orlando Calixte SS- 3 for 4, 2B, HR(2).  BA= .270.
Tyler Beede RHP- 4.2 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 5 ER, 5 BB, 6 K's.  ERA= 5.40.

Rough start for Tyler Beede who just does not fare well in the PCL launching pads.  He gave up 3 of the 51's' 4 dingers, 2 in the first inning.  Hunter Pence says "Hey!  Don't forget about me!"

AA  Altoona Curve defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels 3-1:

Luigi Rodriguez RF- 2 for 4.  BA= .388.
Jordan Johnson RHP- 1 for 2, HR(2).  BA= .500.
Jordan Johnson RHP- 6.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 5 K's.  ERA= 3.14.
Will LaMarche RHP- 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.  ERA= 0.00.

Maybe Jordan Johnson can find a position to play if the pitching thing doesn't work out?

Nice game for padding the old stat line.  Not sure where this Johneshwy Fargas has been but it's nice to have him back.

  1. Yeah, just didn't think Beede was ready yet this season, that's why I had pushed Suarez as a dark horse candidate for making the opening day rotation. His starts so far in the majors have not disappointed!

I've been waiting for the Giants to find pitchers who can hit as well as pitch, it is an advantage in the NL to be able to do this, being able to go to a pitcher for regular PH, saving your regular bench for later usage. Hopefully Johnson can do both.
