Pablo Sandoval broke out of an 0 for 40 slump with a 3-run dinger to lead the Giants to a route of the ChiSox in Chicago. Key Lines:
Denard Span CF- 1 for 4, HR(11), BB. BA= .269. Span tied his career season high in HR's which he set last year.
Brandon Crawford SS- 3 for 5, 2B. BA= .251. Crawford is slashing .287/.350/.463 in the second half.
Pablo Sandoval 3B- 1 for 3, HR(6), SF. BA= .201. As mentioned, the dinger broke an 0 for 40 slump. Giants are clearly keeping him in there for a reason so the remainder of the season may determine whether Pabs is back next year...or he may be back no matter what.
Matt Moore LHP- 6.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 5.31. This is the kind of game we envisioned from Moore all season...on days he was off. Moore has 4 QS in his last 5 Starts with a 2-inning scoreless relief stint thrown in. Since August 7, his ERA is 3.18 in 34 IP. At an $8 M differential between his option and buyout, the Giants have to pick up the option, although they could consider picking it up then trading him if they get a great offer.
