AZL Giants broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the 9'th inning and held on for a 6-5 win:
Jacob Gonzalez 3B- 2 for 5, 2B.
Kyle McPherson 2B- 1 for 3, BB, SB.
Jeffrey Parra C- 1 for 2, BB.
Nico Giarratono SS- 1 for 3, SB.
Sidney Duprey LHP- 3.1 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 0 K.
Miguel Figueroa RHP- 3.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's.
John Russell RHP- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K's.
-Jacob's double was the only XBH of the game for the Giants and it came on a popup in front of the pitching mound the Cubs whiffed on.
-Figueroa's first batter hit a bases clearing triple to drive in some inherited runs, but he then settled down to hold the Cubs at bay for the next 3 innings.
-John Russell was dominant in Salem-Keizer before being brought down to shore up the AZL Giants postseason pitching.
-Deciding game for the AZL championship tonight. Jake Greenwalt will reportedly get the start.
