ESPN has a new/revised top 70 prospect list out today. The Giants have 4 players in the top 70.....3 infielders and their new #1 pick. Farm system may be rising in the rankings a little which is good.
ReplyDeleteParks Harber just keeps hitting. IMO, perhaps one of the most intriguing and ready to contribute at the MLB level, though finding a position for him may be challenging.

DeleteI'm not sure he's got the value that would make him such a meaningful trade chip. Those of us here and elsewhere watching him outperform consistently can see him making the same thing happen at the MLB level. I'm included in that, I really like Parks Harber.
DeleteBut it's unlikely that another GM is going to hand over MLB talent for Harber's prospect profile.
But..If he can fetch an MLB reliever with an ERA under 3.50, my blessings will be all over that too.
After a strong June, 22 year old Diego Velasquez is having a incredible month of July at the plate. Especially considering he is doing this in AA, where so many have failed.

DeleteScott Bandura seems to have really kicked back into gear when his smash bros from AA got promoted up themselves. Very glad to see it, he's done surprisingly well with aggressive assignments this year.
ReplyDeleteIt helps to feel like you're with a winning group, and when your not it's easy to press. Just such an issue exists with the MLB Club - I don't know how guys prepare for a game mentally, knowing their hard work will again lead to anguish and frustration when we loose by 1 over and over and over again.
Leaving the bullpen as such an incredible void going into the year was such an obvious and UNFORGIVING mistake. In Addition to selling the right pieces, I sincerely hope they also find major additions to the pen at the deadline.
