Would McCray would get better rehab in the PCL or is ACL hitting OK?
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows Brennan can hit AAA, but wouldn't the Giants be better off getting McCray ready?
It's not unusual for rehabbing players to start out in the ACL then move up after 2-3 games.

DeleteInteresting reading all the mock drafts. The Giants 2025 draft bonus pool was $8.3 mil while their Bonus pool in 2026 is $17.3 mil so they should do really well in this draft. Are there a player or one of a handful of players you'd like to see the Giants draft with their #4 pick?
ReplyDeleteIf one of Cholowsky, Emerson or Lackey falls to #4. Giants are obviously hoping for Cholowsky and Buster may have a plan. If those 3 are off the board, Jacob Lombard has the highest ceiling but some bust potential. Part of me wants them to go pitcher, pitcher, pitcher, pitcher with the first 4 picks.
DeleteEric Booth Jr has a pretty high ceiling in his own right and probably less potential for a bust but Lombard’s superstar ceiling is certainly tempting. I think there will be a good number of pitching diamonds in the rough available in the first 3-4 rounds so that the Giants can go for a high upside hitter at #4, if not Lombard then Booth Jr. All the reports about Lombard’s hit tool concerns keep bringing up his performance on the summer of ‘25 showcase circuit. Let’s hope the Giants scouts have a more up to date assessment on Lombard. And it sounds like Booth Jr has an unconventional swing but not a seriously flawed swing.
ReplyDeleteI think Flora is the safest choice the Giants can make at #4. Proven college pitcher with a great skill set, no injury history, at a position of need. A local kid too.
ReplyDeleteLombard's upside is tremendous, but his strikeout rate is concerning.
