  2. At 28 yo, has Will Brennan's time come and gone?
Although he was DFA'd (and not claimed), he is regularly in the lineup in Sacramento because the River Cats only have 3 outfielders!
Maybe Bo Davidson needs a shot there? Is that too early?
The Giants don't have many outfielders in the upper minors.

    1. Will Brennan is firmly entrenched as a AAAA/fringe MLB player.

    2. Why use up a AAA slot for him?
Because no one in AA is ready to play there?
      Other than Davidson, actually, no...

  3. Giants farm system is the best i have possibly seen it in 25 years, but time will tell depending on how players turn out. I could geek out on so many is their prospects. I will focus on Dakota Jordan and Bo Davidson. Two potential 20/2” studs who are athletic and play solid defense and also have massive power potential that they are learning to tap into more. Bo will be in AAA next year and will get a spring training invite, and he is having a terrific year. Dakota will be in AA and as long as he doesn’t take a huge step back, then he’s one step away from being on the fringes of being called up to the bigs. Side note: I really want the giants to move on from Mahle/Ray and also Houser within a month and I want Whisenthunt to get a shot to see what he can do in the bigs. Since Trent Harris has been doing well lately, if he keeps it up you might as well try him over a lot of other guys that are getting shots. But I’m not sure they want to hold up another 40 man roster spot with him just yet.

    1. Sigh. We have been around and around on this issue. Historically, spending huge on pitching is a very bad bet. Spending big on pitching is what got Bobby Evans fired. FZ didn't want to and I would bet the reason why Buster didn't convince ownership to spend on pitching is because he didn't want to either.

    2. And again, the reason this team is bad is not because they didn't spend. It's because they spent on the wrong players. This organization needs better baseball decisions, not more spending.
