DrB's 2024 Giants Top 50 Prospects: Honorable Mention(Part 2)

 Javier Francisco IF.  DOB:  11/11/2002.  B-R, T-R.  6'1", 162 lbs.  Rule 5 Eligible Dec. 2024.

2023(ACL):  .280/.442/.542, 7 HR, 21.2 BB%, 19.2 K%, 156 PA.
2023(A):  .241/.303/.345, 9.1 BB%, 24.2 K%, 33 PA.

International signee in 2019 but lost the 2020 season so is older than you expect for level of play.  Showed some power in the ACL.  Defensively limited to corner IF, maybe LF.  Protege of Fernando Tatis Sr and has been comped to Fernando Tatis Jr.  Needs a breakout season at the plate.

Charlie Szykowny IF.  DOB:  6/30/2000.  B-L, T-R.  6'4", 225 lbs.

2023(ACL):  .250/.391/.462, 2 HR 14.1 BB%, 21.9 K%, 64 PA.
2023(A):  .239/.340/.304, 9.4 BB%, 15.1 K%, 53 PA.

5th year college draftee.  Played SS in college but size favors a move to 3B where he'll have more pressure on the bat.

Justin Wishkoski 3B.  DOB:  1/19/2001.  B- R, T- R.  6'3", 195 lbs.

2023(ACL):  .375/.500/.563, HR, 15.0 BB%, 1.7 K%, 60 PA.
2023(A):  .209/.346/.302, 13.5 BB%, 9.6 K%, 52 PA.

College Senior draftee.  Played in an extreme hit-friendly conference but so far excellent K/BB translates to pros.  Defensively limited.  Will go as far as the bat takes him.

Justin Bench 3B/OF.  DOB:  8/28/1999.  B-R, T-R.  6'0", 185 lbs.

2023(ACL):  .370/.466/.587, HR, 12.1 BB%, 8.6 K%, 58 PA
2023(A):  .354/.446/.354, 5 SB, 7.1 BB%, 14.3 K%, 56 PA.

Another college senior draftee.  Played CF in college but probably does not have the speed for that position in the pros.  Bat may be legit.  HOF Johnny Bench has a son named Justin and Justin's father's name is John but no, this Justin Bench is not the son of THAT Johnny Bench!

Turner Hill OF.  DOB:  4/4/1999.  B-L, T-L.  5'10", 180 lbs.

2023(A):  .287/.374/.370, 19 2B, 3 3B, 27 SB, 10.7 BB%, 8.9 K%, 347 PA.

NDFA signed out of indy ball last offseason.  Hill is a CF/leadoff/speed/contact type player.  Comparable to Wade Meckler in terms of playing style.  Maybe a tad more speed than Meck?  Played progressively better as the SJ season went along.  Should be ready for the A+ challenge in 2024.

  1. Move Justin Bench UP!
Definitely too old for A-ball, and too good...
