  1. Alex, at Giants Extra mentioned tha t Strickland was easily hitting 96 MPh on the radar gun last nite.
I've noticed that our young starters are generally not having a great season so far. Patience is a virtue as my Scottish Nanny use to say to me.. Never agreed with her, but it is true.

  2. Mejia has had a pattern of a rough period of adjustment and then better results at Augusta and SJ. Its just getting a little more extreme as experienced hitters punish his mistakes. Where do the Giants send Tidrow first? I think Richmond is most in need of his services.

    1. That rotation needs to get it in gear. None of the 4 top dogs are really standing out at all... Blackburn's 10 K game a couple starts ago was about the only performance worth noting so far this year for the Squirrels. Crick's last start was promising; boy would I sure like to see him go on a run.

  3. What has happened to the Giants wealth of young pitching??!!

I mean, we've seen an AFW let down before, but this is a system-wide, CSAMBBEM total disappointment. Don't know what there is to say, but it's no fun to follow at all... Such a surprise considering the depth we were looking at from the end of the 2013 season.

Perhaps they just all need a season to flounder before they flourish again.

    1. Best story right now is Steve Okert getting his mojo back. And several relief arms in Augusta. We need big stories though, with lotso K/9 #s to trumpet.

    2. All the more awesome if they pick up another sexy pitcher like Touki or Matt Cai--er I mean Grant Holmes with the 14. Really tough to imagine though with all those top college arms dropping. If not, a consolation prize of Chavis or Pentecost will ease the pain.
