AAA: Sacramento River Cats outscored the Salt Lake City Bees 11-8:
Grant McCray CF- 2 for 5, 2 2B. BA= .257.
Marco Luciano LF- 3 for 5, 2 2B. BA= .216.
Hunter Bishop RF- 2 for 3, BB. BA= .250.
Osleivis Basabe 2B- 1 for 3, HR(2), BB. BA= .218.
Kyle Harrison LHP- 4 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K's. ERA= 5.40.
Tristan Beck RHP- 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K's. ERA= 1.64.
Marco Luciano is 11 for 33 over his last 8 games. A mixed bag for Harrison with an excellent K/BB. Tristan Beck seems ready to help out in the pen when needed.
AA: Richmond Flying Squirrels bombed the Chesapeake Baysox 10-0:
Jairo Pomares DH- 2 for 4, 2B, BB. BA= .277.
Victor Bericoto RF- 2 for 4, HR(3), BB. BA= .319.
Adrian Sugastey C- 2 for 5. BA= .290.
Aeverson Arteaga SS- 3 for 3, SF. BA= .227.
Manuel Mercedes RHP- 5.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K's, 8/3 GO/AO. ERA= 4.76.
Nick Sinacola RHP- 3.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K. ERA= 1.69.
Victor Bericoto is limited defensively but he sure seems like a hitter. Pomares is from the same international class as Marco Luciano and Luis Matos. He missed most of 2023 with an injury. Hit 12 HR but with just a .238 BA last season. He's trying to build on that this season. He's still just 24 yo so too early to write him off.
A+: Eugene Emeralds defeated the Vancouver Canadians 5-3:
Jonah Cox CF- 3 for 4, 2B, Sac. BA= .278.
Quinn McDaniel 2B- 2 for 4, BB, 2 SB(5). BA= .250.
Cesar Perdomo LHP- 5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K's. ERA= 6.55.
A: San Jose Giants blanked the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 2-0:
Dakota Jordan CF- 0 for 1, 2 BB, HBP, SB(3). BA= .333.
Robert Hipwell DH- 1 for 4, 3B. BA= .135.
Greg Farone LHP- 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 9 K's. ERA= 0.71.
Cade Vernon RHP- 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 0.00.
Ben Peterson RHP- 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 4.76.
Farone has 23 K's in 12.2 IP over 3 starts. Hoping to catch a Gerelmi start tonight with my wife and some friends.
Bishop has 1 HR in 68 PAs, 22% Ks, .338 OBP: is he selling out his power for contact?
ReplyDeleteNice to see all 4 minor league teams win yesterday!
For the season: Sac 10-9, Richmond 3-10, Eugene 6-7, SJ 8-5.
River Cats are 8-5 other than pathetic series in Las Vegas.
Squirrels need some help!
Squirrels are the Giants weakest affiliate on paper so not too much of a surprise there. Other levels all have interesting prospects to follow.
DeleteSquirrels will get interesting quick if Eldridge is assigned there shortly. He's also from area.
DeleteSchmitt to IL with oblique.
ReplyDeleteEncarnacion to 60 day IL.
Villar selected. He gets one more shot! I assume will play 1B.
Video circulating on X of Bericoto throwing out a runner at home, and Roger Munter comments that he has the best OF arm in the system.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Bericoto regarded as defensively poor? Slow? Iron glove? Bad angles?
