Nice game for padding the ol' stat lines but hopefully the start of more good things for Marco Luciano. I think there was a short rain delay at the start which may have gotten the SP's off on the wrong foot. Hey! If you are looking for a lefty reliever, Helcris Olivares may be your guy. His pitching line through 4 appearances: 3.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K's.

Hey Doc, what's the background on this Helcris Olivares?? I don't remember reading about him and I think I'd recall that name!!
ReplyDeleteIs his from our lower minors or someone we picked up? What do you think about his prospects? Thank you!
Helcris Olivares is a 24 yo LHP who has bounced around several organization including the Rockies, D'Backs and Red Sox. His transaction record lists several stays on 60-day IL's. He was picked up by AA Richmond last summer after being released by the Red Sox. His career K/9 is over 9 but so is is BB/9. Maybe he's finally healthy and the Giants pitching coaches have fixed the walk problem?
DeleteFB reportedly between 93 and 97 MPH.
DeleteThanks very much, we'll see if he can breakout then!!
DeleteNot much being reported on Bryce Eldridge, wrist problem?
ReplyDeleteBryce Eldridge is listed as assigned to AA Richmond and on the 7-day IL.
DeleteSAC is all about the starting pitching but good to see a strong game form LUCIANNO..hopefully he can build on it..gotta be a little difficult playing the OF for the first time and the hitting..but the giants are doing it in the right place..Also, assigning McCray to SAC was the right move to get mega ABs and work on the hit tool......Love to see TIBBS make it to Richmond soon, they really don't have much on that team..
ReplyDeleteOn another note, worried about this Yankee series and their bats
