Tommy Romero RHP- 4 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 4 K.  ERA= 1.29.

Tremendous season debut for Luis Matos.  Great to see Marco Luciano off to a strong start.  Gotta think he's going to be the Giants starting SS by the end of the season.

  1. Matos or someone close to him must read this blog, as you called for him to gain muscle in the upper body to push all those 350 foot fly outs from last year just 10% further and become home runs and he has sure done that!

After a down year, I think people may be still sleeping on him a bit. He’s much more athletic and versatile than a Heliot Ramos type and, even if he slumps for times, he is playable because of his defense.

  3. I have long said that Matos will be a superstar and still believe it! Excited for him to get his chance. I don't think he has much more to show at AAA.

  4. If Marco Luciano is the Giants starting SS by the end of the season, lets hope it's because he's earned it!

  5. Pitching, Pitching, Pitching?
13 of MLB's Top 30 Giant prospects are pitchers, 9 are in SF or Sacramento.
Will we see them ALL this year?
Harrison, Roup, Teng, and Miller have already (is anyone missing?).
Anyone not think the 5 in Sacramento (Whisenhunt, Black, Seymour, Dabovich, and Rodríguez) won't be?
Avila, not on the list, has already appeared.
Not at all sure where Jefffries fits on this list...
SF patched up the position players but mostly left the pitching to take care of itself.
    Will it?
