  1. How hot is Casey? Looked like a change that hung up a bit in the zone. He absolutely crushed it, driving in all the Cats runs in the 1st...

    1. Casey is only hitting .258 so obviously the answer to your question is he is LUKEWARM

    2. No, Casey is en fuego:

      First 9 games: 4-37, 0 home runs, 1 double, 3 walks, 11 strikeouts
      Next 6 games: 12-25, 4 home runs, 3 strikeouts

  2. Time to bring up Luc. The experiment at SS has not worked and he’s hot (and a better defender). #freeramos

    1. Sure, bring Luciano up, but is he really a better SS than Ahmed who has been pretty good on both sides of the ball?
On Fangraphs, Ahmed and Baily are the only players with positive fielding and batting.
The infield has been quite good, hasn't it?
      Where will Luciano play?
The worst thing about the Giants is moving runners along and getting them home.

    2. Luc needs to prove that he can be healthy and effective for a long period of time before they call him up. He’s never had a healthy season. His best season which truly put him on the map was also his healthiest season but even then he missed a lot of time. His development is being hampered because he misses so much time every year. It would be a bad idea to call him up. Based off of what we have seen in him so far, if he is called up he’s going to get injured or be ineffective with the glove or bat or both. He’s been quite a streaky hitter and fielder because he misses so much time every single year.

  3. I've seen Rayo a couple times up close and thought the body type doesn't scream athlete, he just keeps hitting!

  4. Pavs tweeted that the FO is excited about how Reggie Crawford is throwing the ball. He pitched 1 scoreless inning yesterday for Richmond. Maybe it's time for them to push Crawford if their plan is to make him a starter. He has a great arm.

    1. Rookie pitcher # 7 (if you don't count Fitzgerald's 1 IP)?
      Bring him on!

  5. Although he has never been successful hitting at the MLB level, Donovan Walton has pitched twice for Sacramento (Doc mentioned him April 4th -- that was his 2nd appearance) and is 2-0 in 4 IPs with 0 ERs allowed...

    1. Ha ha! Well, he's definitely no pitcher, (just watch any video from his appearances) but they were definitely fun!

Both in extras to finish the games on the road, both wins for Walton. AND, extra innings meant he inherited a runner on 2nd to start each inning.

In the final inning of one of the games, two (!) runners were thrown out at the plate, one of them for the final out of the game. Like I said, fun!

  6. Joey Bart - saw on pirates Twitter that Joey Bart got hit in the head by a home run ball while catching during batting practice in the bullpen. Wow it's unfortunate how he just can't catch a break! Hope he's ok but was wondering why he didn't play today and may not play for a few days at least.
