"When the Giants Come to Town..." is my blog intended to chronicle my thoughts on San Francisco Giants baseball. My special interest is in prospects and the farm system, but of course, will comment on all aspects of the San Francisco Giants. I will also comment on baseball in general, particularly from a fantasy baseball perspective. I hope you will find the site informative, and invite you to join in the discussion.
The Giants have played 14 games when the opponent has scored 4 or more runs.
ReplyDeleteThey have won only one of them.
They have won 12 of 13 when they gave up 3 or fewer runs, losing a 2-1 game to Tampa Bay.
Never have seen a home official scorer award the first hit when the fielder fumbled the ball, recovered, then almost threw the batter out.
ReplyDeleteNo matter how good the stop, the transfer is straight forward, and it isn't the first hit of the game.
This is not the first bad call by the Giants' official scorer, and this one may not be consequential by the 8th inning, but the first hit is never, or hardly ever, awarded on a questionable 3rd inning bobble.
A clean hit in the 4th dismissed the Chapman favored call.
Pffft
Isn't there something in Lineups 101 that states unequivocally that you don't lead off with your worst hitter?
