Nick Sinacola RHP. DOB: 10/29/1999. 6' 2", 205 lbs. Drafted 2021 Round 7.
2024(A+): 4-1, 2.68, 40.1 IP, 8.48 K/9, 1.56 BB/9.
2024(AA): 5-2, 4.08, 68.1 IP, 7.77 K/9, 2.07 BB/9.
Sinacola has a 3-pitch starters mix with numbers that indicated good command. Best pitch seems to be his slider. He pitched 5 hitless innings with 8 K's in his second AA start. K rate has slipped as he's moved to higher levels but still has decent ratios. Placement for 2025 will likely depend on roster numbers. It should be AA vs AAA. He'll need an opportunity to break through the Giants logjam of young pitchers but could have a career as a #4/5 SP.
And now Kirby Yates goes to the Dark Side!
ReplyDeleteSome players and commentators say a cap won't work in baseball but they are looking at the micro rather than the macro: they are thinking in terms of individuals rather than teams. Yes, there still will be mega salaries for mega stars, but how many individuals per team can fit into a $250M team cap?
The Giants with only 3 players are close to $75M AAV (more or less $25M/year for each), are just $19M from the 1st luxury cap meaning they could not sign another "star" of the caliber of Adames, Chapman, or Ray.
The Dodgers reach the first "cap" with just 7 players and several of those are manipulated to defer salary. You couldn't fill out the team with MLB minimum paid players. They "cheated" like crazy to cut the cost of Ohtani, but it was within the "rules"!
Thought SINACOLA had very solid year at RICHMON but just wore down in the last month..Should be stronger and better this year..In still expect him to be in RIC to start the season given all the young pitchers in the AAA-MLB level right now
