The Giants failed to extend their high-wire act as their luck ran out in the 11'th inning of an extra-inning loss. Key Lines:
Wilmer Flores 3B- 1 for 5, HR(14). BA= .298. Wilmer's solo HR in the 3'rd inning got the Giants their first run.
Patrick Bailey C- 2 for 5, 2B. BA= .258. Blake Sabol LF led off the 4'th inning with a walk. Bailey's double put runners at 2'nd and 3'rd with no outs. Brandon Crawford's Sac Fly scored Sabol but the Giants couldn't add on.
Jake Junis RHP- 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K's. ERA= 4.55. Junis was the Opener, or was it Starter? Featured Pitcher? Whatever, he did good pitching 3 scoreless frames.
Alex Wood LHP- 2.2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 4.83. Wood came in for Long Relief, or was it Featured Pitcher? He was good for 2 IP, but then fell apart in his 3'rd inning of work.
D'Backs scored their designated runner in both extra innings. Giants scored a run on the wild pitch in the 10'th inning to stave off defeat but their luck ran out in the 11'th as they left Casey Schmitt 3B stranded at 3B after he got there with one out.
The standings on mlb.com don't seem to have updated after the game today so not sure where they settle out.
Really Farhan!

Matos is at -0.1 WAR, but continues to look good to the eye test. He's taking tough pitches. Generally swinging at the right pitches. Strikeout rate is still very low, esp for a 21 YO first entering the league. I still think there is star potential here given a little bit of age and muscle. Also defense has looked quite good too.

Trade-wise, it seems like the most likely outcome today is nothing (or close to nothing, a la the Pollock blockbuster). But if Farhan does something big, my guess is it isn't a rental, or mostly not. E.g., Dylan Cease and Tim Anderson for a package of prospects, perhaps Luciano, Black, and a couple more.
