Down on the Farm: 6/6/2022

Mondays are off-days for all full season minor leagues but the complex leagues got started today.  I probably won't be posting daily highlights from the complex leagues but will monitor them to see if anything interesting is developing.  I'll go ahead and post today's scores, list any outstanding lines and share my thoughts on any players I think could break out for each team.

ACL:  Rockies pounded Giants Orange 8-1.

Donovan McIntyre OF- 1 for 4, 3B.  BA= .250.

The Orange squad managed just 2 hits and struck out 13 times in their opener.  McIntyre was the Giants 11'th round pick out of HS in 2021.  He is B-L, T-L.  Slashed .203/.329/.313 last season so is repeating this year.

Other names of interest:  Melvin Adon RHP is listed as on a rehab assignment.  He is 28 yo.  Wonder if he is still touching triple digits on radar guns?

Irvin Murr III 3B.  Age 19.  B-R, T-R.  6'4", 220 lbs.  19'th round draft pick in 2021. Slashed .109/.180/.174 last season.

Diego Velasquez SS.  Age 18.  B-S, T-R.  6'1", 150 lbs.  Slashed .213/.282/.231 last season.

ACL squads will be mostly 2021 draftees who struggled last year, rehabbing vets and DSL graduates.  2022 draftees will be worked in after the draft.

ACL:  Giants Black defeated D'Backs Black 7-3.

Luis Matos CF- 2 for 4, 2B.  BA= .500.
Anthony Rodriguez SS- 2 for 4, HR(1).  BA= .500.
Mauricio Pierre RF- 2 for 4.  BA= .500.
Joe Kemlage RHP- 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 K's.  ERA= 0.00.

Matos is rehabbing a quad strain as expected.  I'm fairly high on Rodriguez, a switch-hitting SS from Venezuela and absolutely love Pierre's potential.  Kemlage looks like 2021 undrafted FA signing(college) who appeared in a handful of games last year.

DSL:  Phillies White beat Giants Black 5-2.

Eliam Sandoval LF- 2 for 4, HR(1).  BA= .500.

Can't say I really recognize any names on this squad.  Sandoval looks interesting:  Age 18.  B-L, T-L.  6'2", 175 lbs, but he's repeating the level after slashing .222/.311/.376 last year. Isn't Javier Francisco SS the kid who is related to Fernando Tatis?  He hit just .188 last season.

DSL:  White Sox outscored Giants Orange 9-5.

Ryan Reckley SS- 0 for 4, BB.  BA= .000.
Juan Perez C- 1 for 4, BB.  BA= .250.
Lazaro Morales DH- 2 for 4, 3B.  BA= .500.
Jorge Martinez RHP- 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K's.  ERA= 0.00.

Reckley and Perez are bonus babies signed in Jan 2022.  Lazaro Morales is an 18 yo from Cuba.  Martinez is a 20 yo who pitched with mixed results on last year's DSL squad. Again, I can't say I recognize any other names on this roster.
