  1. Was Bednar this wild with the Bulldogs? Or is it a product of his frustrating inability to overpower low A hitters with a fastball that was inexplicably overrated by scouts?

    1. Bednar's BB/9 was 3.5 his sophomore college season, That improved to 2.5 his junior season. It was 1.3 in his first pro experience last year but SSS. It's 4.5 this season in low A ball which is an extremely conservative placement for a first round draft pick out of a major college program. His velocity is definitely down from pre-draft scouting reports and he may well be overthrowing to compensate. My other thought is loss of velocity and command are known to be early signs of UCL injury, so tuck that intot he back of your mind.

  2. I can't believe Bednar's ERA is only just above 4.00.
