The Giants reconstituted bullpen locked down the Rockies for 4 innings while Buster Posey hit a 2-run, PH double to drive in the tying and winning runs in the 8'th inning. Key Lines:
Brandon Belt 1B- 2 for 5, 2 2B, BB. BA= .238. Belt was on base 3 times out of the leadoff spot and both hits were doubles but did not figure in the scoring.
Pablo Sandoval 3B- 3 for 5, 2B. It's great Evan Longoria is coming back and all, but do the Giants really need him? Should Pabs move to 1B and send Brandon Belt to the bench?
Scooter Gennett 2B- 1 for 5, HR(1). BA= .218. The Giants got Gennett to hit dingers. His 2-run shot capped a 4 spot in the first inning.
Austin Slater RF- 2 for 4. BA= .274. Slater scored the winning run on Buster's PH double.
Buster Posey PH/C- 1 for 1, 2B. BA= .262. Buster scalded a low liner between a rotated 1B and 2B with enough velocity to carry into the R-CF gap. Charlie Blackmon managed to get to it but all the way out by the warning track. Austin Slater, who was the trailing runner came all the way around from 1B.
Madison Bumgarner LHP- 5 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 1 BB, 2 K's. ERA= 3.92. Maybe it's Coors Field. Maybe it was a letdown from all the Trade Deadline talk. Bummy go knocked around a bit. Definitely a subpar start for him.
Bullpen- 4 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K's. Trevor Gott and Sam Coonrod took the 6'th and 7'th innings while Tony Watson and Will Smith stayed in their 8'th and 9'th innings roles. Smith allowed 2 hits but struck out the side for his 27'th Save.

I wold love to see the Baby Yaz and Scooter swing side-by-side. To my untrained eye the swings, with their approach to produce loft, are quite similar.
