AAA Reno Aces held off the Sacramento River Cats 5-4:
Francisco Pena C- 2 for 4, HR(17). BA= .291.
Abiatal Avelino SS- 1 for 3, BB, SB(16). BA= .285.
Conner Menez LHP- 5 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 BB, 7 K's. ERA= 4.84.
Cats scored single runs in the 8'th and 9'th but fell short. Francisco Pena has been a nice 4'th catcher stash in Sacramento all season. Will the Giants keep him around next year? Abiatal Avelino starts his penance assignment for the baserunning brain cramp Monday night.

Reliever Dan Winkler received from the Braves as part of the Melancon fleecing has MLB numbers which aren't bad and has looked good in Sacramento.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the Giants should see what they have in him to help decide if they want to arbitrate with him for his last year before free agency (2021).
Or maybe they don't want to improve his position and plan to give a modest increase over 2019's 1-yr/$1.61M.
Per someone: "Made little sense to have Avelino in the big leagues and Dubon at AAA."
