Jamie Callahan RHP- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K.  ERA= 23.63.

Most likely just a sillyball effect, but Francisco Pena has raked impressively ever since coming to the River Cats, although he was coming off a mini-slump, 1 for his last 28, coming into this game.  A big ouch for Kyle Barraclough.

  1. Dick! DH'd, 0-3 in Sac
Chris Shaw pinch hit for him in the 9th and walked -- not a good sign...

  2. Doc, a couple days ago I watched the Webb (Aug 12) game with Nashville... Webb wasn't like dominate, but he was more of beating the hitters with his brain. They just seemed to have their timing off with Webb and got them for 7 Ks. I am not sure about his stuff, but if he whooped them with his off stuff, he is going to be a good one. The announcers did not give out any "atta boys" for his stuff... BUT, there was a midfield death trap with Dubon at SS and Avelino at 2nd. They are quick, really quick and seem pretty fast as they went through 3 DPs that were just beautiful.. Dubon had to run in on slow roller and had that ball to Abelino quicker than I have EVER seen any SS do. They still had enough time to get the hitter at 1B by at least 2 steps. They going to have to find a place for Crawford very soon.
There are some real interesting pieces at Sacramento... I wasn't exactly excited about Mr Z, however it sure is looking better. I am no longer a Shaw guy. His body language doesn't impress me..

    1. Shaw probably needs a change of scenery -- he's not getting much love in Giants' organization: dropped to AA after hitting 24 dingers in Sac last year (pre ML ball)? 22 thus far this year. 1st round pick in 2015 (1st pick in supplemental).
Maybe someone with a bandbox and a need for a LHB 1st base will trade a lottery pick this winter.
Good luck, Chris, maybe you can become an Adam Duvall somewhere.
Won't be Cincy, though, although @35yo Joey Votto is into his decline, he is owed $107 Mill through 2013.
If SF's bloated contracts are bad, how about that!

    2. move Belt in the Off Season and start Shaw at 1B in 2020, in fact put Belt on the IL now and play Shaw now.............there is always something wrong with Belt anyway.
