Someone asked about projecting a Giants team for 2022.  That is very difficult because so much can happen in 3 years.  We know very few of the current MLB roster will be on the team in 2022.  I'll must say the Giants have built up a very respectable top tier of prospects made up of Joey Bart, Heliot Ramos, Marco Luciano and Hunter Bishop.  That seems like a pretty good group to build and dream on to me, Bart's and Ramos' recent struggles notwithstanding.

  1. I'm wondering if Bart and Ramos have slumped a little due to missing several weeks of games due to injuries suffered early in the season? It might take a little time to get their batting stroke back. I've noticed that Barts playing time has a pattern where he would be in the lineup catching for 1 game and ether DH or not play the next. Maybe he's being brought along slowly due to the injury?

  2. That is a very strong core of hitters, and there are some very good pitchers, both starters and relievers. Hjelle, Menez, Selman, etc. Would the Giants ever DFA any of their stupid big contracts when (a) it's obvious that they are past their use-by date, and (b) they are blocking some good players coming up? I've written off Melancon and Samardjiza, I guess they eat some innings during these dark days, but why not DFA and eat the $$ already.
